OWATONNA, MN – Just two blocks from the White House,Viracon glass outfits the façade of 1730 Pennsylvania Avenue – a mixed-use commercial structure renovated by Krueck+Sexton Architects, who won the AIA Chicago 2012 Divine Detail Award for the design.

Krueck+Sexton, based in the Near North Side of Chicago, was tasked with renovating the failing façade of 1730 Pennsylvania Avenue. They turned to a variety of suppliers, including Viracon, to develop a custom window unit to replace the old window that had severe water damage and maintenance issues.

The replacement window units increased daylight by 516% while improving performance. The façade’s overall area was reduced by 36% and its exterior joints were reduced by 380%.

Viracon would like to congratulate Krueck+Sexton Architects on the Divine Detail Award, and thank the firm for including Viracon on this project.
