Viracon Adds Black Finish Option to its ExtremEdge™ Spacer Product

Offers Optimum Warm Edge Performance

Publish Date: Friday, May 09, 2014

OWATONNA, MN – Viracon, the nation’s leading single-source architectural glass fabricator, now offers its ExtremEdge™ warm edge spacer in a black finish.

ExtremEdge™ is positioned between two lites of glass and is designed to improve the U-value of an insulating unit. The new black finish distinguishes itself from other finishes by its ability to reduce interior reflection through glass.

In practice, ExtremEdge™ reduces edge conductivity and thus, heat transfer into buildings. It offers condensation resistance values as high as 64, minimizing the formation of condensation on glass surfaces. These values exceed those of spacers composed of both aluminum and stainless steel. ExtremEdge™ also offers better U-value performance than aluminum and stainless steel.
