Viracon Updates Revit® Files to Make Designing with Glass Easier, More Efficient, and More Accurate than Ever
OWATONNA, MN…Architects, designers, and contractors can now download Viracon’s updated glass product files for the Autodesk® Revit® building design software. Viracon is pleased to announce its updates, along with a new video that showcases the benefits of utilizing the updated files as a component in the glass selection and specification process.
Viracon updated a total of 55 glass product files – its most popular high-performing glass types - to further support the design process. The updated files are compatible with the most current version of Revit.
“We know Revit is a primary design tool for architects. Keeping our Revit product files up-to-date ensures that we are making the process of placing our glass within their building model as easy as possible,” says Alissa Schmidt, Technical Resources Manager for Viracon.
Viracon’s new Revit files can be downloaded, and the accompanying video can be viewed, at http://www.viracon.com/page/bim-library.
Design professionals can also download individual product files from Autodesk Seek: http://seek.autodesk.com/manufacturer/Viracon%2C+Inc.?resetft=true&source=mfrbrws&locale=en-us&viewMode=gallery
Revit provides precision in glass design to show performance and visual characteristics, allowing architects, designers, and contractors to accurately represent glass within their building models.
“Glass is a complex material and it is often difficult to convey what each glass type will look like on a completed building,” adds Schmidt. “Our files include the actual glass color, transmittance, and reflectance. We encourage designers to render multiple options in the design phase and then order product samples of those they are considering.”
Revit also helps architects visualize their designs by comparing performance characteristics of different glass products. Viracon’s file updates supply architects with the most current information about the company’s large roster of products. Revit is key to understanding and appreciating Viracon’s aesthetic glass colors, and the updated files contribute more accuracy and efficiency than ever to architectural projects.
