Top Left: In the elevator banks, walls clad in sleek Banker Wire mesh are juxtaposed with warm-looking wood paneling, creating a contemporary space that embodies this company’s identity as a state-of-the-art workplace. After consulting with Banker Wire, designers selected DS-1 woven wire mesh for the space. Gently undulating flat wires woven with thinner, straight wires produce a robust, symmetric fabric with soothing qualities that bring visual depth to this vertical application. The opaque metal fabric contrasts texturally with the smooth elevator door and complements the warmth of nearby wood paneling for a modern aesthetic that achieve the architect’s design goals.
Top Middle/Right: The walls in this renovated office’s gallery and technology boardroom are clad with Banker Wire mesh. Banker Wire formed mesh wall tiles, folding the mesh over along each of the tiles’ sides to achieve the understated edges that IBI Group requested. Banker Wire also designed a custom attachment system for the cladding, creating hidden brackets that remain imperceptible from the front. Supported by the invisible brackets in each tile’s four corners, the mesh cladding brings texture and visual depth to the space – without a bulky attachment mechanism. To achieve this look, Banker Wire wove stainless steel flat wire into its S-18 pattern – a mid-scale basket weave. This checkered pattern’s low percent open area allows it to reflect color and light, adding warmth and elegance to the office space.
Bottom: Banker Wire’s DS-1, SZ-4 and IPZ-25 mesh patterns were chosen for this restaurant project. SZ-4 and IPZ-25 weave copper with stainless steel to create reflective surfaces that emanate a warm glow in the restaurant’s soft lighting. The opaque stainless steel DS-1 pattern combines gentle, flat wire with straight wire to produce a robust, symmetric fabric that adds to the space’s warmth.
