SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 14, 2012 – SAGEand Viracontoday announced a marketing partnership at the U.S. Green Building Council’s Greenbuildconference that will help architects and building owners improve the energy efficiency of buildings with glass while maintaining its design integrity. The partnership will enable architects to incorporate both high performance and electrochromic glass into buildings in a more seamless and color-coordinated way.
SAGE Electrochromics, the world’s leading manufacturer of advanced dynamic glass, and Viracon, the nation’s leading single-source architectural glass fabricator, are partnering to coordinate the exterior appearance of both electrochromic and high performance glass. Under the agreement, SAGE will market and sell a line of products that incorporates a Viracon exterior lite that is designed to complement other popular coatings available from Viracon. This product integration will give customers more aesthetic options for solving a variety of glazing challenges in their building projects. Both parties will work together to help architects and building owners understand and appreciate this new opportunity to use SageGlass®and Viracon high performance glass on the same project.
SageGlass is electronically tintable dynamic glass for windows, skylights and curtain walls that tints or clears to modulate light, heat gain and glare. Rather than using conventional sun controls such as motorized window shades, blinds and louvers that tend to block sunlight and views, SageGlass provides a solution that conserves energy and enhances occupant comfort while preserving unobstructed views of the outdoors.
“Architects and building owners are requesting window solutions that offer a variety of aesthetic options while meeting strict energy requirements. This partnership enables an architect to blend both static and dynamic glazing solutions on the same project while optimizing a building’s performance and appearance,” said Kevin Anez, director of marketing and product management at Viracon. “Our innovative technologies can be combined to complement a building’s design. We are pleased to be working with SAGE and look forward to advancing technological solutions for the building industry.”
The partnership will be finalized at a ceremonial signing Wed., Nov. 14, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. Pacific time with SAGE co-founder and CEO, John Van Dine, and Viracon president, Kelly Schuller at the SAGE Greenbuild Booth #4353N.
“The partnership combines the most advanced dynamic glazing technologies with Viracon’s leadership in architectural glass solutions,” said Andrew Hulse, SAGE’s vice president of sales. “This partnership enables both companies to provide holistic glass solutions to our customers.”
