TEC® Launches Android Coverage Calculator App
Success of iPhone App Leads to Android Version
AURORA, IL…The TEC® App is now available on Android™ devices in the U.S. and Canada. The free “TEC™ Coverage Calculator App”, which is also available on iPhone, estimates the amount of tile and flooring installation products needed for a specific job. The app includes a new Find a Sales Rep feature on both Android and iPhone versions.
The launch of the TEC® Coverage Calculator Android App was initiated in response to increased demand from contractors. The original iPhone app, which launched in April 2014, has received thousands of downloads from tile industry members. According to Flurry Analytics — a mobile experience and performance program —the TEC® app has garnered above average user engagement for apps created by businesses.

The TEC® Coverage Calculator App allows contractors to calculate the estimated amount of surface preparation products, mortars and grouts necessary for a project. Contractors simply enter their project’s specifications – including square footage, tile size and size of grout joint – and product estimates are reported in pounds, gallons, bags and pails. Users can save a product’s coverage summary to the “My Saved Jobs” section on the app. This feature allows contractors to store their projects and quickly reference them for future jobs.
The TEC® App comes with a new, convenient feature that allows contractors to plan for projects from virtually any location and find a local TEC® sales/technical representative to service their specific needs. When a U.S. state or Canadian province is entered, the app provides complete contact information for the professional most suited to the project’s requirements.
App users can also easily view TEC® videos hosted on YouTube®. The videos provide on-site guidance for working with TEC® products and quick refreshers about proper installation technique.
